Why do you have almost only small format pictures and drawings?
There are several reasons for this: I just like small formats. I also have an A4 scanner that does not allow larger formats. You can also take a picture, but this is not of the same quality as a scanned work of art. Nevertheless, in my online shop on Artflakes, in which most of my works of art are located, you can have the pictures printed in large formats as wall art (gallery print, art print, canvas picture, etc.). However, some of my works are in larger formats (e.g. 16" x 20").
Why are there sometimes traces of color on the back of your paintings and drawings?
The traces of color arise during the painting process. They are part of the picture and are part of it. If you frame and hang the picture or the drawing or have it printed as wall art, you will not see these traces of color.
Are your paintings and drawings hand-signed?
Yes, all my paintings and drawings are hand-signed with my name or the abbreviation and sometimes the year of their creation. The signature is sometimes on the front, but mostly on the back of the picture.
Are your pictures and drawings fixed when this would be necessary with a painting or drawing technique?
Yes, all my paintings and drawings that require the painting or drawing technique (charcoal, pastel, pencil, colored pencil etc.) are fixed with a high-quality fixative.
Do you deliver your pictures and drawings with or without a frame?
I deliver my paintings and drawings without a frame. The advantage of this is that you can then choose a suitable frame according to your taste according to your home furnishings. In the in-room views, you can see the artwork in a frame. If you like this, you can purchase such a frame from a dealer of your choice.
Can I visit you in your studio?
If you make an appointment beforehand, you can generally visit me in my studio, where I will be happy to show you my works. However, the prerequisite is that the corona pandemic has been overcome. At the moment this is not the case, so no studio visits are possible at the moment.
What do you use to design your (roll)prints?
Why are there works that you don't sell?
There are two reasons for this: On the one hand there are paintings and drawings that I am very attached to emotionally and therefore do not want to sell in the original. On the other hand, I need paintings in my studio that I can show visitors in a frame. You can buy these unsellable originals in my Artflakes Shop as wall art in large formats.
I would like to know what a paintings or drawing of you looks like in my apartment. Is there a way to do this?
Yes, there is for iOS and Android the “InsituArtRoom” app. If you subscribe to the premium version of the app, you can upload your own picture from your apartment to the app and try what it looks like. You get an initial idea with the in-room views, which you can find on the detail pages of the salable pictures under the description.
I am interested in one of your artworks and would like to purchase it. What do I have to do?
Write to my email address firstname.lastname@example.org
If you go to the detail page of the painting, you will find a link in which the subject is pre-filled with the title of the painting. Then I immediately know which piece of art it is. I will then answer your request within 24 hours at the latest.
Do you also ship your works abroad?
Yes, I send all of my salable pictures and drawings against prepayment to the following countries: Germany, all other EU countries, Great Britain, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, USA and Canada.
What are your payment terms for purchasing an artwork?
The prerequisite for sending an artwork is that you pay in advance. When selling through my website, I do not offer payment on account. You can pay with me either by SEPA transfer, international transfer or securely via PayPal. In my shop on Artflakes the payment conditions of Artflakes apply. If you have chosen one of my artworks, I will reserve it for you for the next 14 days. If no payment has been received by then, the artwork will be offered for sale again.
Which carrier do you ship with?
I deliver my works of art with DHL. You will find the shipping costs here.
What shipping time can I expect?
Your order is ready for dispatch within three working days at the latest. Depending on where you live, the shipping time is five to eight days (Europe) to four weeks (non-EU countries, Switzerland, USA, Russia).
What cancellation and return rights do you offer?
Of course, I adhere to the statutory right of withdrawal and return. You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receipt. You will receive a full refund of the purchase price. However, the artwork (paper / canvas picture) must be returned in perfect condition within ten days. The customer bears the return shipping costs. In the event of damage or destruction, the full purchase price of the picture must be reimbursed by the customer, since it is unsuitable for resale.
I only offer art leasing within Germany. I reserve the right to refuse a leasing request due to personal concerns, without giving specific reasons.
